The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has told lecturers that the image of the University would get enhanced or diminished through their actions or inactions.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that since the lecturers were at the forefront of academic work in the University, their actions should create good impression about UCC both locally and internationally.
The School of Physical Sciences, of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, has organised the 2015/2016 Academic Year Dean's Awards Ceremony for students who have remarkably excelled in their academics.
The awards, instituted in 2015 with sixty-five awardees, was in recognition of students in levels 200, 300 and 400, who had attained Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) of 3.6 and above presented with certificates of honour at the colourful event, which was held at the Main Auditorium.
Ace broadcaster, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has called on law students of the University of Cape Coast to strive for integrity in all their endeavours.
He challenged them to identify their purpose in life and live a purpose beyond themselves. That, he said, would make them live a life of integrity.
Mr. Azure made the call when he addressed law students at the Celt Auditorium 900.
The Training and Development Section of the Directorate of Human Resource has organised a one-day orientation programme for national service personnel for the 2016/2017 academic year.
The orientation was aimed at sensitising the national service personnel to be efficient and effective in the discharge of their duties in the various colleges, schools, faculties, departments, sections and units in the University.

“I commend you highly for your hard work, but you must work harder and demonstrate more commitment and trustworthiness in the discharge of your various duties”, Prof. Ampiah said.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has celebrated the 12th global Confucius Institute Day in the University.
The Confucius Institute, named after the renowned Chinese Philosopher Confucius (551-479 BC), is aimed at promoting the Chinese language and culture, supporting local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitating cultural exchanges.
The Medical Students Association(MSA), in collaboration with the Association of Business Students, has organised a health walk as part of the Health Week celebration of the Association on some principal streets of Cape Coast. The two-hour health walk started from the Sam Jonah Library forecourt through the East Gate, Accra-Takoradi road to Pedu Junction, Akotokyir road before ending at the Medical Hostel with an aerobic exercise and some health tips.
Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has officially taken over as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Cape Coast at a short but symbolic ceremony which was organised at the University on 30th September, 2016.
The former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole, whose term of office started in October 1, 2012 ended officially on Friday, 30th September, 2016.
The Global Education Network (GEN) has conferred the highest grade of Fellowship Honour of GEN on Prof. D.D Kuupole,Vice-Chancellor and Prof K.T Oduro, the Pro-Vice Chancellor.
The rest were Dr. Rosemary S. Bosu, the Director of the Institute for Educational Planning (IEPA) and Administration (IEPA) and Prof Yaw Ankomah, a former Director of IEPA . The award, which is the greatest honour GEN can award to any individual, was in recognition of their professional contribution to GEN, a global society of educationists with global reputation.
A visiting Professor at the History Department, Prof. Edmund Abaka, has donated assorted History books and magazines to the Department of History under the College of Humanities and Legal Studies. Prof. Abaka, who is also an associate Professor of History and International Studies, University of Miami, USA, said the gesture was in recognition of the good work the Department was doing and also in appreciation of long-serving lecturers like Dr. Boadi Siaw and others for their continuous support for the Department.
