A Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow and Clinical Psychologist from Syracuse University, USA, Prof. Ignatius N. Ijere, has explained that there is no research to prove that addiction can be cured.

According to him, however, addiction can be managed and treated successfully.

GAUW members with basic school children

The Ghana Association of University Women (GAUW) has engaged basic school girls to enlighten them on menstrual hygiene to mark the 2023 World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Over 200 adolescents drawn from basic schools within Cape Coast  Metropolis participated in the Seminar, which was held at the Main Auditorium at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The Menstrual Hygiene Day is commemorated worldwide on May 28 with the aim of breaking taboos surrounding menstruation and raising awareness on the significance of good menstrual hygiene management worldwide.

A two-day Pre-National Service Orientation has been held for final year students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Presentation of  the international accreditation certificate to ACECoR

The Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), University of Cape Coast has obtained international accreditation for four postgraduate programmes being run with – and hosted by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (DFAS).

 The accreditation with a validity period of six years was received from the prestigious Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programmes (AQAS), based in Cologne, Germany.

The Infrastructure Development Institute (IDI), Japan,  in collaboration with the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), University of Cape Coast, with the support of the World Bank, has organised a short course  on Coastal Management through the Integrated Sediment Management Approach.
