The Senior Staff Association-Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), University of Cape Coast branch, and the Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) have donated sanitary items to the University Hospital to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.


The items included eight (8) boxes of gloves, five (5) gallons of hand sanitizers and 10 gallons of parazone.

The Nursing Students Association (NUSA) of UCC in conjunction with Nursing students from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) has held health outreach at Bronyibima, near Elmina in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem (KEEA) Municipal Assembly.

The outreach programme which was organised as part of the NUSA week-celebrations was aimed at educating, counseling and screening people in the community for some medical conditions.

The Centre for Gender, Research, and Advocacy Development, CEGRAD, has commemorated this year’s International Women’s Day with a symposium on campus.
 
The Day, marked annually on March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Globally, the theme for this year’s celebration was “I am Generation Equality: Realising Women’s Rights”.

Locally, CEGRAD marked the day with a symposium and a debate competition at the C.A Ackah Lecture Theatre Auditorium 900.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery has welcomed the eighth batch of nursing students from Grand Valley State University (GVSU), USA, for the 2020 Study Abroad in Ghana.
 

The GVSU students who were accompanied by three lecturers are in Ghana for a two-week Community Health Nursing programme in some communities in the Central Region.

The Department of Human Resource Management has held a day's Colloquium aimed at providing a platform for interaction, exchange of ideas among Human Resource experts, practitioners and academia on contemporary issues in the profession.

The 2020 edition of the colloquium was on the theme: "The Role of Human Resource Management in the New World of Work". Participants included academics, HR practitioners and students.

Theatre lovers on campus will get their first dose of laughter and an array of life lessons during the second semester of 2019/2020 academic year theatre season.
    
This follows the launch of seven plays which will be staged by students of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the Main Auditorium from 27th February to 11th April, 2020.

The School of Agriculture has held a one-week intensive training programme for pig farmers.
    
The training programme which brought together participants from Ghana, Nigeria and Burkina Faso was aimed at equipping them to improve upon their Pig Farming Business.

The School of Nursing under the College of Health and Allied Sciences has engaged students of the School to know at first-hand their academic concerns, welfare and other issues confronting them on campus.  

The day’s engagement, dubbed: “Students-Management Consultative Meeting”, also afforded Management and faculty of the School the opportunity to familiarise with students, especially the level 100s.

Smallholder farmers drawn from Central and Western regions and other parts of the country have taken part in a short training course in tractor operation, maintenance, and management.
    
Organised under the auspices of the School of Agriculture, the training workshop forms part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences' extension activities to communities around the University and beyond.

The Counselling Centre has held a day's empowerment programme for students living with disabilities on campus to discuss matters of mutual benefits.

The programme, which brought together physically challenged, visually impaired, friends of People with Disabilities (PWDs), and some other stakeholders, was on the theme: “Our World Where Our Differences Make us Special".
