The Sports Section of the University has presented awards to sports personality at the 2015/2016 Dinner.
Students who distinguished themselves in the various sporting disciplines as well as individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of sports in the University.
In his remarks at the function, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George T. K. Oduro congratulated the sports men and women for raising the image of the University through their consistent victory in national and international sporting activities. He inspired the UCC team not to relent in their effort at bringing more honours to the University.

The personality awards were presented to the following:
Prof. Kobina Yankson, a former player, who has been dedicated to the development of volleyball in UCC and donated trophies and cash prizes to deserving teams during Inter-Hall Volleyball Competitions
Prof. Joseph Oga, the immediate past Chairman of the Sports and Recreation Committee under whose term the Sports Section initiated the building of the Gymnasium and Stadium.
Prof. Atsu Barku, who was a member of the Sports and Recreation Committee has contributed immensely to the development of sports in the UCC.
Mr. Samuel Agyare was also honoured for always providing medical service and first aid during sports programmes in the university.
The Best Sports Chairperson was presented to Joseph Guba of Valco Hall for leading the hall to win 11 trophies during the Inter-Hall Sports Competitions in the academic year.
The Hall Master for Valco Hall, Mr. Kwesi Boadu received the best hall master award for his exceptional motivation to the athletes which contributed to the numerous trophies the hall won during the 2015/2016 academic year’s sports competition.
