The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, has received a Colombian delegation, led by Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero, the Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, at the Council Chamber.
The Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, Prof. Livingstone K. Sam-Amoah, has observed that any country that depends on agricultural production as basis for industrial development is most likely to fail if irrigation is not part of the development plan.
“Indeed in some parts of the world, irrigation remains the dividing line between abundant food and no food at all. Irrigated agriculture represents 20 percent of the total cultivated land, but contributes 40 percent of the total produced worldwide,” he noted.
The UCC Faculty of Law placed second in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court qualifying Competition held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) recently.
UCC was also adjudged the best in oral presentation and research documents for the competition.

The Vice- Provost of the University of Cincinnati (UC), United States of America (USA), Prof. Raj Mehta, has reaffirmed the commitment of his University to strengthen academic ties with the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
He said the University of Cincinnati, which is 200 years old, would partner UCC in the areas of joint research, proposals and, exchange of lecturers and students programmes.
Prof. Mehta was speaking during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, as part of a day’s reciprocal visit to the University.

The Deputy Head of Mission of the Republic of Ireland to Nigeria, Joseph Kennedy, has led a six-member delegation from the University of Lemerick, Ireland to pay a courtesy call on the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, at his office.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery of the University of Cape Coast two years ago established mutual collaboration with the University of Lemerick for the development of both faculty and students of both institutions.
A Professor from the Auburn University School of Nursing, Gregg E. Newschwander, has called on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K.T. Oduro at his office. Prof. Newschwander who was accompanied by Dr. Elizabeth Essamuah Quansah, Coordinator of Outreach Programmes at Auburn, was at the University to see to arrangements and preparation for the forthcoming UCC-Auburn Annual Clinic.
