The Department of Music and Dance has held a concert of music in memory of the late Dr. Joe Atta-Quartey, an alumni and a former lecturer of the Department, to round-off its activities for the semester.

The late Dr. Joe Atta-Quartey, who was described as an “Ace Conductor”, because of the dexterity he showed when leading choirs, promoted research and choral music in the University of Cape Coast.

The Directorate of Research Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) has organised a day’s workshop on Publication Outlets, Researcher Visibility and External Engagement to explain the need for lecturers to publish beyond Ghana.

The workshop was also aimed at building the capacity of lecturers to improve their writing skills.

Opening the workshop, the Director of DRIC, Prof. Samuel Annim, urged lecturers to sign onto the Google Scholar platform so as to make themselves visible to the world through their publications.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beautiful Creations Company Limited, Mr. Samuel Dankyi Ansong, has donated medical equipment worth GH100,000.00 to the School of Allied Health Sciences under the College of Health and Allied Sciences.

The items included office swivel chairs, four drawer cabinet, metal cupboards, printers, laptops, hospital wheel chairs, laboratory coats, advanced microscope, steel dustbins, eye charts, weighing scale with adult height measure, scanners, diagnosis sets, hospital trolleys, among others.

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) in collaboration with the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Cape Coast, has organised a roundtable discussion on the study on the link between group level political inequality and ethnic conflict in fragile states.

The primary objective of the study, according to CDD, is to improve governance by reducing exclusion and discrimination of the ethnic groups and mitigate the diverse consequences of such policies.

The Center for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD), has organized a workshop for female administrators, both senior members and senior staff members, to build their capacities on gender issues.

It was also aimed at fulfilling the mission of CEGRAD in educating and training the University community to understand gender and sexual harassment issues.

The Director of the Directorate of Research,Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC), Prof. Samuel Anim, has urged female administrators to protect the image of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

To this end, Prof. Anim charged them to inculcate the sense of professionalism in all their endeavours at the workplace.
