The School of Medical Sciences (UCCSMS) has held the 10th White Coat Ceremony with a call on medical students to be humble and compassionate whiles they enter into the clinical stages of their studies.
    
The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage event which is organised as a transition for medical students from the theory component to the practical phase of their training
The ceremony symbolises the medical profession and forms an integral part of the UCCSMS calendar.

The University of Cape Coast in collaboration with the University of Alabama, United States of America (UA) and Central University (CU), has held the first Joint Symposium on the theme “Social Determinants of Health” on campus.
    
The one-day Symposium which is the first of a series of symposia by the three institutions was intended to foster international partnerships for research and policy formulation in the area of health.

The Office of the Registrar’s Welfare Association has organised a send-off party for seven (7) members who have retired from the University in 2019. 


Welcoming members to the occasion, the Director, Directorate of Human Resource, Rev. Isaac Baafi Sarbeng, stated that the association came into being last year and has so far served a good purpose and hoped that the programme would create the opportunity for the members to honour the Senior Colleagues.

The team that represented the UCC and won the 6th Edition of the Ghana Universities Debate Championship (GUDC) held at All Nations University College, Koforidua, has officially presented the trophy to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah.

The University of Cape Coast has emerged as the winner of the 6th annual edition of the Ghana Universities Debate Championship held at All Nations University College, Koforidua.
The competition spanned from 18th to 27th July 2019.


UCC defeated the defending champions, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and one-time champion, the University of Ghana (UG) to clinch the victory. The win is the first for the University of Cape Coast since the inception of the competition ending their six-year’s drought.

The University has held a Send-Off and Long Service Awards Ceremony for 87 members of staff who retired from active service this year.

The 2019 retirees comprise 24 Senior Members, 34 Senior Staff and 29 Junior staff. Each staff was presented with certificates, household items and an undisclosed amount of cash.
