The Confucius Institute has celebrated its second anniversary with both Chinese and Ghanaian cultural performances at the Main Auditorium.

Speaking at the function, the Central Regional Minister, Mr. Kwamina Duncan, commended the University for hosting the Institute to promote the Chinese Language and culture and also extending it to other educational institutions in the region. He assured that the Regional Coordinating Council would ensure a peaceful environment to make the region secure for the Confucius Institute to develop and achieve its objectives.

The University of Cape Coast has hosted the 3rd Annual Ghana Sociological and Anthropological Association (GSSA) Conference on the theme ‘The Social Sciences and the Sustainable Development Goals.’

The two day programme had members from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Ghana (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology (KNUST), and University of Development Studies (UDS) attending.

The University has climaxed the 51st Congregation with a call on the graduates to make positive and meaningful impact on their communities.

The Chairman of the University Governing Council, Mrs.  Nancy O. C. Thompson, has challenged the 2017/2018 graduands of the University to be pioneers of innovations after as they enter the field of work.

Dept host two students from China.

A team of researchers from the University has introduced stakeholders in the Cape Coast metropolis to new methods of cultivating crops on unused and underutilised spaces in urban areas.

The team of researchers are Dr. David Oscar Yawson (PI), Dr. Michael Osei Adu, Prof. Frederick Ato Armah and Dr. Paul Agu Asare.

Japan Motors has presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 to support the organisation of the 12th Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Lectures.

The 12th Series of the Lecture will be held from Friday 28th -Saturday 29th September,  2018 at the Main Auditorium.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has launched the Kleos/BoLTE technology to provide high capacity, resilient, reliable, secure and dedicated wireless access to the University Community.

The Ahomka Foundation (TAF), has donated medical supplies worth 300, 000 to the University Hospital to support healthcare delivery.

The items included bandages, blood collection tube holders, treatment carts, catheter stabilization device, surgical disposables, breathing circuit, surgical light handle, abdominal pads and gauze dressing.

TAF is a non-governmental organisation whose focus is to promote the wellbeing of Ghanaians.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, has admonished newly-admitted students for the 2018/2019 academic year to prioritise their studies above all other activities on campus.

Prof. Oduro reminded the fresh students that they were purposely in UCC to be taught to get in depth understanding of their respective fields of study.   “You’re here to study, all other things are complementary.  If you’re a Christian, you balance your Christian life with your studies. Make your studies your point of evangelism.” he advised.
