The University Enterprises Limited (UCCEL) and GOIL Ghana Limited have renewed their relationship with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The new MoU which is an update of an earlier one the University signed with GOIL will give UCCEL full control of the operations of the GOIL Fuel Station on the University’s land.
The Distance Education Students Association of Ghana, University of Cape Coast (DESAG-UCC) has held its 5th Biennial Women’s Conference with a call on female students to add value to themselves.
The two-day conference which had the theme: “Empowering Women in Entrepreneurship during and after COVID-19” was attended by delegates from the 16 regions of Ghana.

The School of Medical Sciences (SMS) has inducted 111 medical students into the clinical phase of their training at the 11th White Coat Ceremony.
Out of the total number of medical students inducted at the ceremony, there were 70 regular and 41 Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) students.
The ceremony is held for level 300 medical students who had completed their pre-clinical training and had satisfied all academic requirements to begin the clinical stage of their medical training.
A week’s workshop has been held for staff of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The workshop was held to build the capacity of staff of the school.
The Strategic Plan sub-committee of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has held a two-day retreat in Elmina to develop a strategic plan for the union.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the National President of GAUA, Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu, said the retreat was aimed at producing a strategic plan and framework that would provide the roadmap to align the union's functional activities to achieve their set goals.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has announced an increase in the Research Support Grants (RSG) and Best Research Awards (BRAs) from GH¢600, 000 to GH¢100,000 to motivate faculty to contribute meaningfully to society through cutting-edge research.
Prof. Boampong made this announcement at the Fifth Research Awards and Grants (RAG) Ceremony where 45 awards and grants were presented to academic and non-academic staff to carry out their research projects in specific areas.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong has indicated that the University is reviewing its academic activities to give students practical experience to make graduate programmes relevant to socio-economic and technology development.
Prof. Boampong noted that the review would help empower the graduates to be more self-reliant to create their own businesses and employ others.
The University has held the 53rd Congregation for graduates who completed their programmes of study for the 2019/2020 academic year at the Cape Coast New Stadium.
The first day of the Congregation witnessed the conferment of Diploma and Degrees on graduates of the College of Education Studies and the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences and the College of Humanities and Legal Studies.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh has reaffirmed the Ghana Police Administration’s commitment to its collaboration with the University to train highly skilled police officers in specialised fields of police operations.
Mr. Oppong-Boanuh said it was for this reason that the Ghana Police Service signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UCC to begin the training of detectives in July 2020.
