Following his appointment by the Governing Council of University of Cape Coast as Provost of the College of Distance Education (CoDE), Prof. Anokye Mohammed Adam, has assumed office.

Prof. Adam succeeds Prof. Isaac Galyon, who served a-two-term mandate which was six (6) years in duration.

In a statement at a short handover ceremony, Prof. Adam thanked his predecessor for contributing to the success of CoDE during his time in office.

The College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS) has held an Open Day to familiarize the public with operations of the College.

The Open Day was part of activities earmarked for the 60th Anniversary celebration of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) themed, "60 Years Of Higher Education: Expanding the Frontiers of Health".

The immediate past Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Frederick Ato Armah, has handed over the Directorate’s administration to the newly-appointed Director, Prof. David Teye Doku.   

Prof. Armah, who was appointed as Director in 2019 (after serving as deputy Director for three years), congratulated Prof. Doku on his appointment.

The University of Cape Coast has held a Send-off and Long Service Awards Ceremony for ninety-three (93) retirees of the University for their meritorious service.

A breakdown of the number of retirees (teaching and non-teaching Staff) honoured includes twenty-three (23) Senior Members, thirty-five (35) Senior Staff and thirty-five (35) Junior Staff.

A Professor of Entomology with the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Peter K. Kwapong, has called for aggressive steps to be taken to protect the habitat of bees.

He prevailed upon African governments, especially, to clamp down on illegal loggers who were felling many of the forest trees which bees used as their habitat.

A professor of Tourism, Prof. Kwaku Adutwum Annim Boakye, who is currently the Dean of the Office of International Relations of University of Cape Coast, says tourism is not a prerequisite for national development. 

According to him, "the mere presence of tourists does not guarantee developmental outcomes such as reduction of poverty, hunger and economic growth". 

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has held a matriculation ceremony to officially admit one thousand, five hundred and sixty-nine (1,569) students to pursue various undergraduate and post-graduate sandwich programmes.

The Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, UCC, Dr. Sir Sam Jonah, has paid a working and familiarization visit to the University to interact with staff. 

The visit afforded the Chancellor the opportunity to obtain at firsthand and respond to questions and concerns of staff.
